Ljubljana, 23 May - The looming general strike in the metal and electronics industries was called off last week as employers and trade unions finally managed to reach agreement of pay raise. On payday the workers of grinding wheel maker Comet who were on strike in April did not get wages, which is something that the workers of the textile producer Prebold have been waiting for quite a while. While farmers and dairies have still not reached agreement on lower purchase prices of milk, farmers were reported to have filed 69,000 requests for subsidies with the relevant agency this year.
