Resolution of Italian Christian Democrats

Rome, 21 October - Tomorrow the parliament will again discuss the situation in Yugoslavia. Foreign Minister De Michelis will give a report in the name of the government. The Christian Democrats are preparing a blueprint for a resolution, signed by 30 delegates of this party, which proposes the formal recognition of Slovenia and Croatia, and also new bilateral and multilateral agreements with the two Republics. The resolution touches mainly the issue of the Italian minority in Slovenia and Croatia, demanding not only a "special statute which would guaranty equal rights and protection of the minority", but also the right to transportation of goods and persons between the two republics, which are now devided by a border.
