Ljubljana, 16 June - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 17 June:

BRUSSELS, Belgium - PM Anton Rop is to join EU leaders for a two-day EU summit to discuss the constitutional treaty, the new president of the European Commission and Croatia's bid to join the EU. The PM is to be accompanied by Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel and Finance Minister Dusan Mramor. (STA)

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Slovenian party officials are to attend sessions of the top three European parties (EPP, PES and ELDR), held prior to the meeting of the EU Council. Janez Jansa of the opposition SDS is to attend the session of the EPP, Breda Pecan of the junior coalition ZLSD is to join the PES session, while PM Anton Rop of the senior coalition LDS is to attend the ELDR meeting.

LJUBLJANA - King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia are to conclude their three-day official visit to Slovenia.

LJUBLJANA - Lawmakers are to continue their regular June session, to discuss in an emergency procedure amendments to the acts on notary office, public sector wage system and treatment of genetically modified organisms. (STA)

PORTOROZ - A two-day conference on EU cohesion policy, regional development and enlargement is to begin at 9 AM. The event is organised by the Institute for Macroeconomic Analyses and Development, the Koper-based Faculty of Management, and the Paris-based Research Center of Transition Economies.

LJUBLJANA - Agriculture Minister Milan Pogacnik is to meet representatives of the dairy industry and milk producers to discuss the dairies' intent to lower the purchase price of milk.

BLED - The Slovenian Association of Employers is to hold an international conference on pay policy as the core of social dialogue. The event is to begin at 8:30 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Finance Minister Dusan Mramor is to hold a news conference at 2 PM to present a report on the 2003 public debt management.

LJUBLJANA - The Office for Money Laundering Prevention is to hold a news conference at 12 AM to present its 2003 report.

LJUBLJANA - The opposition New Slovenia (NSi) is to hold a news conference at 11 AM about the bill on sustainable regional development.

LJUBLJANA - The council of the national broadcaster RTV Slovenija is to hold a session at 10 AM.

PORTOROZ - The 2nd congress of Slovenian publishers is to be opened at 2:30 PM by Minister of Culture Andreja Rihter. The congress is to close on Friday. (STA)
