Companies Say Costs May Not Rise as Euro Rate Is Fixed
Ljubljana, 28 June - Slovenian companies which conduct most of their business with the EU have welcomed the entry of Slovenia into the Exchange Rate Mechanism II, but warned that economic policies must be synchronised to ensure a stable exchange rate. If excessive increases in domestic expenses are not offset now that the rate is fixed, competitiveness could deteriorate significantly, they noted.
