Record Low Number of Births in 2003
Ljubljana, 30 June - The number of live births in Slovenia continued to decrease in 2003 as 17,321 children were born, which is 180 fewer than in 2002. The number of births per 1,000 people, meanwhile, dropped from about 21 in 1955 to 8.7 last year, the statistics reveal.
