dr.Rupel summoned the Slovenian representative in Canada

Ljubljana, 31 October - dr. Rupel summoned today the special emissary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Canada, dr. Zlatko Verbič. Among others they discussed the most propitious way to present the interests of the Republic of Slovenia in Canada, as soon as Slovenia is diplomatically recognized. Due to a large number of ethnic Slovenes in Canada, Slovenia is bound to open a diplomatic mission also in this state. Dr. Verbič also revealed to the Slovenian Minister of Foreign Affairs the present points of view of the Canadian government and political parties on the issues regarding the Yugoslav crisis and the perspectives for the diplomatic recognition of the Republic of Slovenia.
