Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 26 June to 2 July
Ljubljana, 3 July - Slovenia started the week with the entry to the European Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM II), the grooming phase for the euro. Dominating the events on the home scene was the decision of PM Anton Rop to propose to the parliament to dismiss Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel. Rupel is to be replace by Ivo Vajgl, the incumbent ambassador to Germany. The PM had a busy schedule last week, as he attended the NATO summit in Istanbul and paid his first official visit to Norway.
