President Marković: Flight traffic must begin running smoothly again immediately
Belgrade, 1 November - In his reply to the letter addressed to him by President of the Slovene Government Lojze Peterle on October 24, President of the Federal Executive Council Ante Marković said that the Federal Executive Council (ZIS) discussed the question of air traffic in the Republic of Slovenia during the session held on October 30, and that it resolved that the Federal Secretariat of Transport and Communications should immediately take all necessary steps for the issue (in keeping with all applicable international regulations), of the requisite document to the Adria Airways airline, certifying that the airline fulfills all conditions stipulated, regarding passenger and cargo transport in domestic and international airspace. The Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications must also immediately get in touch with the corresponding Slovene ministry and continue the negotiations that were recently broken off, said Ante Marković. The ZIS also resolved to send inspectors of the Federal Inspectorate for Air Traffic to negotiate the renewed establishment of regional and airport air traffic control with the appropriate authorities of the Republic of Croatia.
