The convoy of ships departs from Dubrovnik
Split, 1 November - The convoy, comprised of 27 smaller ships headed by the Slavija, left the harbour of Dubrovnik this morning at 8.10 a.m. The convoy was halted by the town of Slano, where it is waiting for a security check to be carried out. Nine foreign reporters decided to remain in Dubrovnik at their own risk. Otherwise, the number of people who left the city on the Slavija and the ships escorting it excedes the number of people returning to Dubrovnik in the convoy. Writer Nedeljko Fabrio, member of the Committee for the Homecoming of the Inhabitants of Dubrovnik, said last night that this was because most of the people leaving the city were not permanent residents.
