Economic and monetary operations with the Tolar now possible in Italy
Rome, 1 November - The Italian Bureau of Foreign Exchange notified all exchange offices and banks yesterday that, due to the geopolitical changes that have taken place in Eastern Europe, it has decided to add the currencies of the three Baltic states and of Slovenia to its foreign currency list. Officially, this decision was taken for statistical reasons only, but there is no doubt that the Bureau of Foreign Exchange, as an official state institution, could not have taken this step without first having received the permission of the corresponding ministry. The inclusion of the new Slovene currency in this list means that as of today, economic and monetary operations with the Tolar are now possible on the same basis as such operations with all other unconvertible currencies are carried out.
