LJUBLJANA - Lawmakers are expected to appoint Ivo Vajgl new foreign minister as the extraordinary session of parliament resumes at 10 AM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Romanian President Ion Iliescu is to begin a two-day official visit at the invitation of his Slovenian counterpart Janez Drnovsek. Iliescu and Drnovsek are to give a news conference at noon, whereupon a Slovenian-Romanian business conference is to begin at 3:45 PM. (STA)
BRUSSELS, Belgium - A two-day meeting of the Party of European Socialists deputy faction is to wrap up after this second largest faction in the European Parliament elects its candidate for the post of president of the parliament. Slovenia's Borut Pahor of the United List (ZLSD) is one of the four candidates. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The council of the Liberal Democrats (LDS) is to meet behind closed doors at 4 PM to review the development strategy for Slovenia. Other issues to be discussed include current political affairs and preparations for the autumn general election. A press statement is to be made after the session.
BRDO PRI KRANJU - The Interior Ministry is to put on a conference on fighting corporate crime in the post-transition period, which is expected to be attended by officials from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Latvia and Slovenia, as well as an official of the European Anti-Fraud Office.
LJUBLJANA - Matjaz Hanzek, the human rights ombudsman, is to present two reports, on the erased residents of Slovenia and domestic violence, at a news conference at 10 AM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - A panel debate on the new European constitution is to be held at 2 PM as part of the third international summer school entitled Brave New Europe.
LJUBLJANA - Results of a survey of how the media covered the European election campaign are to be presented at 10:30 AM by the Institute for Civilisation and Culture.
LJUBLJANA - The experience foreigners have doing business in Slovenia is to be discussed at a panel organised by the Dutch Embassy and several other institutions at 6 PM.
ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands - Labour Minister Vlado Dimovski is due to attend a two-day ministerial conference on emancipation and integration.
LJUBLJANA - Representatives of UNICEF Slovenia and businessmen are to meet at 11 AM to present a fundraising activities for children in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
LJUBLJANA - Ljubljana Mayor Danica Simsic is to meet President of the Italian Gorizia region Giorgio Brandolino at 12:30 PM.
LJUBLJANA - A press conference is to be held ahead of the opening of the 52nd Ljubljana Summer Festival, due on Thursday.
