Italian President Cossiga in Slovenia
Ljubljana, 3 November - Italian President Cossiga is the first head of state to visit Slovenia after the declaration of its independence. Shortly after 5 p.m. he was greeted at the border by President of Slovenia Milan Kučan and President of the Slovenian government Lojze Peterle. They spoke for more than an hour, and following their talk Cossiga responded to reporters' question whether his visit signifies the actual acknowledgment of Slovenia by saying that the acknowledgment of a country is a governmental affair.
