Peterle's Bid for European Parliament Vice-President Fails

Brussels, 13 July - Alojz Peterle, a Slovenian MEP, has failed to muster the support to be nominated one of the candidates of the European People's Party (EPP) for a vice-president of the European Parliament. The EPP will hold seven of the 14 vice-presidential posts.
