Zoning Act Allowing Mosque Construction Takes Effect

Ljubljana, 3 August - Amendments to a Ljubljana zoning act that pave the way to the construction of a mosque on the southwestern outskirts of Ljubljana have taken effect. The act, which were the subject of a referendum bid that was later quashed by the Constitutional Court, reserves two hectares of land for an Islamic cultural and religious centre which will stretch across 4,000 sq. metres of land.
