Ljubljana, 11 August - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 12 August:

LJUBLJANA - Defence Minister Anton Grizold is to speak about Slovenia's participation in the peace-keeping operation in Afghanistan, as a second Slovenian Armed Forces contingent is about to leave for this country; at 1:25 PM. (STA)

PORTOROZ - Management of the country's second-largest gaming chain, Casino Portoroz, is to present its stance on the strike announced for Thursday night; at 1 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The non-parliamentary Party of Ecological Movements (SEG) is to speak about its activity ahead of the 3 October general election, at a news conference at noon.

LJUBLJANA - The non-parliamentary party, Active Slovenia, is to outline its view on Slovenia's relations with Croatia and the recently filed interpellation motion against the government at a news conference at 11 AM.

SEVNICA - People's Party leader Janez Podobnik is to outline this year's traditional party rally, to take place on 5 September; at 11 AM.

MURSKA SOBOTA - Eight witnesses for the prosecution are to take the stand as the trial resumes in which five defendants are being tried for attempted murder of journalist Miro Petek.

LJUBLJANA - Environmental issues concerning Slovenia's Alps are to be the focus of a press conference by the society for the protection of the Alps, CIPRA-Slovenia, the committee for protection of Sava Dolinka river and Mountain Wilderness Slovenia.
