REVIEW OF THE MORE IMPORTANT EVENTS IN SLOVENIA FROM 10 TO 16 NOVEMBER (Ljubljana, 16 November 1991, STA)

Ljubljana, 16 November - On Friday, that is a week after the meeting in Rome, the decision of the Foreign Ministers of the European Twelve concerning the economic sanctions against Yugoslavia came into effect. All hope that Slovenia would be exempt from these sanctions has subsided. This is why economists, who met at Bled, have already began to estimate the damage, while diplomatic activities are being directed towards convincing Europe on the urgency of acknowledging Slovenian independence. This acknowledgement is becoming a vital issue, said President of the Presidency, Milan Kučan at a visit in Sevnica.
