Ljubljana, 19 August - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 20 August:

BRUSSELS, Belgium - The future European Commission, including Slovenia's Janez Potocnik, is scheduled to hold the first unofficial meeting at 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Education Minister Slavko Gaber is to talk to the press at 10 AM to present Slovenia's activities in European research programmes and challenges in drafting the 7th framework programme.

LJUBLJANA - The People's Party (SLS) is scheduled to hold a press conference at 11:30 AM to put forward a proposal on additional issues that the parliament could debate an the upcoming extraordinary session. The session will be primarily dedicated to the opposition's interpellation motion.

LJUBLJANA - The opening of the 7th edition of the dance and theatre festival Mladi levi (Young Lions); at 9 PM. (STA)

IDRIJA - The 23rd traditional Idrija lace festival is set to open. The festival features workshops, exhibitions and presentations of the art of bobbin lacemaking. (STA)
