Cyrus Vance is to Evaluate the Necessity of the Presence of the Blue Helmets

Madrid, 17 November - General Secretary of the United Nations De Cuellar has confirmed the fact that the operation of sending the so-called U.N. Blue Helmets to Yugoslavia would cost somewhere between 100 to 200 million dollars. De Cuellar did not specify the eventual action. Replying to a reporter's question whether the United Nations would intervene to establish peace in Yugoslavia, the General Secretary answered that the necessity of the presence of the peace corps will be evaluated by special U.N. emissary Cyrus Vance.
