The influence of EC measures on automobile industry

Ljubljana, 18 November - The economic sanctions, which affected most of Slovene economy, also had a negative effect on automobile industry and car dealers. President of TAM - Holding told STA that TAM has so far not yet felt the consequences of EC measures. Since importers will have to pay high taxes, TAM intends to suspend its bus sales until December, during which time, they hope, compensations will be implemented for Slovenia. Senica said, that presently they are oriented to those markets in which special taxes are not compulsory. There are difficulties with export to Germany, but a number of questions concerning this are unclear, and are being studied.
