The refugees arrived to Friuli-Venezia Giulia region
Trieste, 20 November - The first group of 527 refugees from Dubrovnik arriving tonight on the Italian boat San Marco to Brindisi took the special train to Friuli-Venezia- Giulia region. The group consists mostly of women and children, among them also children from Dubrovnik orphanage, which was accommodated at the educational institution in Lignano. The refugees were received better than Albanians a few months ago because it is obvious that this is only a matter of temporary emigration. The refugees claim they will return to Dubrovnik as soon as possible. This aspect was stressed also by the Italian government which stated that the refugees are not economic emigrants but that they only wanted to avoid the war and intend to return to their country.
