MONDAY, 30 August
GORNJA RADGONA - The third day of the 42nd Agriculture and Food Fair is to focus on cattle breeders, horse breeders, food producers and sugar beet growers. Sonja Bukovec, head of the Slovenian Agency for Agriculture Markets and Rural Development, is expected to hold a lecture on EU and national funds. The fair is to wrap up on Friday.
LJUBLJANA - FM Ivo Vajgl is to meet a Slovenian business delegation ahead of his visit to Kosovo on 1 September, where he is to attend the opening of a Slovenian office for connections.
LJUBLJANA - The collegiate body of the parliament speaker is to meet ahead of Tuesday's extraordinary session of the National Assembly to set the session's agenda. The parliamentary commission for supervision of the work of the security and intelligence services is to meet behind close doors to check some facts related to alleged illegal tapping of electronic media.
PTUJ - The ruling coalition is to meet in Ptuj. Before the meeting PM Anton Rop is scheduled to meet Ptuj Mayor Stefan Celan to discuss the development programme of the Ptuj Municipality.
LJUBLJANA - The council of the coalition Pensioner's Party (DeSUS) is expected to select the candidates for the general elections slate.
LJUBLJANA - The opposition New Slovenia (NSi) is scheduled to present the party's election programme.
LJUBLJANA - The Green Party is to hold a news conference on its general elections programme.
LJUBLJANA - The Youth Party (SMS) is to present its motto and its programme for the general elections campaign.
KRANJ - The chemical and tourism company Sava is to present its half-year business results and teh president of its new supervisory board.
LJUBLJANA - The management of the Real Estate Association of the Chamber of Commerce is to meet to discuss the strategy for Slovenia's development and electronic cadastral register.
LJUBLJANA - The Chamber of Trade is to hold a press conference on its participation at the 37th International Trade Fair in Celje, which is to kick off on 8 September.
TUESDAY, 31 August
LJUBLJANA - Canada's Chief of the Defence Staff, General Raymond Henault is to start a two-day official visit to Slovenia at the invitation of Slovenian Chief-of-Staff, Major General Ladislav Lipic. Henault is scheduled to meet members of the parliamentary defence committee on Wednesday.
LJUBLJANA - The National Assembly is to hold an extraordinary session on the interpellation motion against the government. The parliamentary committee on home affairs is expected to meet before the session.
LJUBLJANA - The Peace Institute is to present a report on intolerance in Slovenia.
LJUBLJANA - The Small Business Development Centre is to hold a press conference on the progress of its programmes and projects, and on its plans for the remaining part of the year.
LJUBLJANA - Raiffeisen Krekova banka is expected to present the foreign investment funds which it will be offering in Slovenia as of 1 September.

WEDNESDAY, 1 September
PRISTINA, Serbia and Montenegro - FM Ivo Vajgl is set to visit Kosovo and attend the opening of a Slovenian office for connections in Pristina.
SKOPJE, Macedonia - Europe Minister Milan M. Cvikl is scheduled to visit Macedonia.
ALPBACH, Austria - Foreign Ministry State Secretary Andrej Logar is to attend a European Forum in Alpbach.
GORNJA RADGONA - The parliamentary committee for agriculture, forestry and food is to meet to assess the readiness of professional services in these three fields for working under the conditions of the common agriculture policy.
VENICE, Italy - A short film by Slovenia's award-winning director Jan Cvitkovic will compete at the Venice Film Festival, which opens on Wednesday. A feature film by director Vinko Moederndorfer will also be presented at the event.
THURSDAY, 2 September
LJUBLJANA - Regular weekly session of the government.
LJUBLJANA - Swedish Defence Minister Leni Bjoerklund is to start a two-day official visit in Slovenia at the invitation of her Slovenian counterpart Anton Grizold. Bjoerklund is expected to meet the members of the parliamentary defence committee on Friday.
LJUBLJANA - The ruling coalition Liberal Democracy (LDS) is to hold a congress to set its programme for the autumn general elections and the programme for the 2004-2008 term. The election slate and the 2004-2008 programme will be presented later in the day.
MARIBOR/GORNJA RADGONA - Agriculture ministers of the Central European Initiative are expected to visit the Agriculture and Food Fair with Slovenian Agriculture Minister Milan Pogacnik ahead of a meeting in Slovenia's second largest city of Maribor.
LJUBLJANA - A draft of the new national programme on environment protection is to be presented.
FRIDAY, 3 September
LJUBLJANA - The election campaign for the autumn general elections kicks off.
MAASTRICHT, the Netherlands - FM Ivo Vajgl is to attend a two-day informal meeting of EU foreign ministers.
LJUBLJANA - Europe Minister Milan M. Cvikl is to meet Montenegrin Minister for International Economic Relations and European Integration Gordana Djurovic.
MARIBOR - Agriculture ministers of the Central European Initiative (CEI) are to gather in Maribor. Slovenia's Milan Pogacnik is scheduled to open the conference, which is also expected to be addressed by CEI Director General Harald Kreid and Maribor Mayor Boris Sovic.
LJUBLJANA - The Environment Ministry and the Chamber of Commerce are to present the national plan on the division of rights for greenhouse gas emissions for the 2005-2007 period.
PORTOROZ - A two-day meeting of culture ministers from Slavic countries which are EU members is to kick off in the coastal city of Portoroz.
SATURDAY, 4 September
BLED - The 55th annual meeting of the European Association for Animal Production (EAAP) is to kick off in the lake resort of Bled, gathering some 750 participants from 55 countries. The event is to wrap up on 9 September.
RUDNO POLJE NA POKLJUKI - War veterans are to gather in Rudno Polje on the Pokljuka plateau. PM Anton Rop is expected to address the participants of the meeting dubbed "Veterans for Peace".
CELJE - Slovenia's football team is to take on Moldova's for the 2006 World Cup qualifying round.
SUNDAY, 5 September
NOORDWIJK, the Netherlands - Agriculture Minister Milan Pogacnik is to attend a three-day informal meeting of EU agriculture ministers in the Dutch seaside resort of Noordwijk.
