Ljubljana, 2 September - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 3 September:

MARIBOR - Agriculture ministers of the 17 members of the Central European Initiative (CEI) are due to hold a meeting at which they will debate the expansion of the use of modern farming methods. A press conference is scheduled for 12:30 PM. (STA)

GORNJA RADGONA - The curtain is to be drawn on the 42nd International Agriculture and Food Fair. A press conference is scheduled for 9:30 AM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - European Affairs Minister Milan M. Cvikl is to meet Montenegrin counterpart Gordana Djurovic at 10:30 AM. (STA)

MAASTRICHT, the Netherlands - EU foreign ministers, including Slovenia's Ivo Vajgl, are to begin a two-day informal meeting to debate current foreign political matters.

LJUBLJANA - The Education Ministry is to present a programme of promoting post-graduate study in Slovenia. The event is to be attended by Education Minister Slavko Gaber, Economics Minister Matej Lahovnik and Chamber of Commerce President Jozko Cuk.

KRSKO - The Krsko Nuclear Power Plant is scheduled to a hold a press conference at 11:00 AM to present plans for its regular overhaul. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Results of the regular monthly public opinion survey Politbarometer are to be presented to the press at 11 AM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The opposition Slovenian Democrats (SDS) are to hold a round-table debate on the conditions facing small and mid-sized companies at 4 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The election campaign begins ahead of the 3 October general election. (STA)
