Ljubljana, 6 September - Below is a schedule of events for Tuesday, 7 September:

LJUBLJANA - Finance Minister Dusan Mramor and his aides are to speak about the public debt and inflation at a news conference scheduled for noon. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - A three-day conference of the European Parliament group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) is to open at 3 PM with an address by President Janez Drnovsek. Slovenia's priorities in the EU are to be outlined by PM Anton Rop. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - A delegation of the European Commission Directorate General for the Information Society is to arrive on a two-day visit to meet representatives of telco operators, Information Society Ministry, Agency for Post and E-Communications, and the competition and consumers watchdogs.

LJUBLJANA - Italian MP Antonio Di Pietro, a former prosecutor, judge and justice official, is to pay a visit to Slovenia to discuss the fight against corruption. On this occasion, Justice Minister Zdenka Cerar is to give a press conference at 3 PM. STA)

NOORDWIJK, The Netherlands - Agriculture Minister Milan Pogacnik is attending a two-day informal meeting of EU agriculture ministers. Responsibility of the state, market and the public in agriculture is being debated.

OSLO, Norway - Chair of the Slovenian parliamentary foreign policy committee Roman Jakic, who is head of the parliamentary delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PA CoE), is to attend a meeting of the PA CoE standing committee. Issues regarding a former Slovenian bank are to be on the agenda.

DUBROVNIK, Croatia - Defence Ministry State Secretary Milan Jazbec is to attend an international summer seminar "NATO and SE Europe", held by the Croatian Atlantic Council between 6 and 12 September.

LJUBLJANA - The opposition National Party (SNS) is to speak about the current situation in the Bay of Piran at 1 PM.

DOMZALE - The CEO of retailer Vele is to speak to the press at 9:30 AM about the company's development and plans for this autumn.

CELJE - The retailer Engrotus is to outline its strategic moves at a news conference scheduled for 11 AM.

QUEBEC, Canada - Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek is to take part in the 8th conference of International Ombudsman Institute (IOI), which is to be underway from 7 to 10 September.

LJUBLJANA - A news conference at noon upon the conclusion of a seminar for Slovenian language teachers around the world.

2004 GENERAL ELECTION

LJUBLJANA - SLS leader Janez Podobnik is to attend a press conference at 11 AM at which one of the SLS candidates is to be presented.

LJUBLJANA - The coalition of the parties, The Women's Voice of Slovenia, the Association for Primorsko, the Association of the Independent, and the New Democracy of Slovenia, are to present their election slogan and candidates at noon.

LJUBLJANA - The list calling itself "For Slovenia of Entrepreneurs" is to present its candidates for the 3 October general election at 1 PM.
