Adem Demači to be awarded the "Saharov" award
Ljubljana, 24 November - Adem Demači is the fifth person in the world to be awarded the "Saharov" award, which was founded in 1985. This is Europe's most distinguished, which is awarded to fighters for the freedom of thought or victims of freedom of thought. The award was justly presented this year to the author and intellectual of Albanian nationality from Kosovo, current president of the Committee for Human Rights in Kosovo, Adem Demači, who survived more than 28 years in Yugoslav prisons, where he peacefully fought for the minority rights of, some 3 million Albanians now living in Kosovo and throughout Yugoslavia.
