LJUBLJANA - The Foreign Ministry and the Slovenian Atlantic Council are to organise a panel entitled "Strengthening the Cooperation between the OSCE and other International Organisations" at 9:30 AM. Results are to be summed up at a news conference at 4:30 PM. (STA)
MARIBOR - Information Society Minister Pavel Gantar is to host a meeting of ministers of the Central European Initiative (CEI) in charge of the information society. The event is to discuss social and political awareness required for technological excellence. Begins at 9:30 AM, news conference at 3:45 PM. (STA)
CELJE - A meeting of business people from Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia-Montenegro is to take place at the 37th International Trade Fair (at 11:30 AM), with ministers from all three countries to attend. A panel on the potential to invest into the Serbian economy is due at 10 AM. (STA)
SCHEVENINGEN, The Netherlands - Finance Minister Dusan Mramor is to attend a two-day informal meeting of EU finance ministers where the talks on the EU's next financial perspective are to continue. Reform of the Stability and Growth Pact is to be on the agenda as well.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary foreign affairs committee is to discuss an upcoming session of EU council for general affairs and external relations at 11 AM, and the committee for EU affairs a first legislative package regarding the next EU financial perspective at 2 PM. The chair of the EU committee is to speak to the press at 3:30. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - A delegation of the Finnish parliamentary foreign relations commission led by its chair Liisa Jaakonsaari is to meet several Slovenian government officials and members of parliament. Statement to the press at 10:30 AM. (STA)
MARIBOR - Interior Minister Rado Bohinc is to conclude his tour of regional police stations in charge of border control by visiting the Police of Maribor. Accompanied by Police Director General Darko Anzelj, Bohinc is to inspect the future Schengen border in the NE region of Stajersko. News conference at 2 PM.
VILNIUS, Lithuania - The Chief-of-Staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces, Major General Ladislav Lipic, is to attend a regular annual meeting of NATO chiefs-of-staff which will be underway between 10 and 13 September in the Baltic states.
QUEBEC, Canada - The 8th Conference of the International Ombudsman Institute, attended by Slovenia's Matjaz Hanzek, wraps up.
LJUBLJANA - Foreign Minister Ivo Vajgl and Speaker of Parliament Feri Horvat are to separately receive the special envoy of the Thai prime minister, Kantathi Suphamongkhon, who is on an official visit to Slovenia from 7 to 11 September.
LJUBLJANA - The Statistics Office is to celebrate its 60th anniversary at an event that will also be attended by PM Anton Rop, at 1 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Justice Minister Zdenka Cerar is scheduled to present court statistics for first half of 2004 at a press conference at 1:30 PM.
LJUBLJANA - Marking the World Suicide Prevention Day, the Public Health Institute is to present the data on suicide in the country and suicide prevention activity at 10 AM.
SLOVENJ GRADEC - A two-day air show is to begin at Slovenj Gradec airport, NE Slovenia, featuring aircraft and equipment. Aero Expo 2004 is expected to be visited by 20,000 people.

SLOVENSKA BISTRICA - The opposition Youth Party (SMS) is to gather for a convention to present its candidates at the general election at 3 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The ruling coalition Liberal Democracy (LDS) is scheduled to stage a press conference at 10 AM with party president Anton Rop outlining the party's campaign trail.
LJUBLJANA - The opposition People's Party (SLS) is due to hold a press conference at 10:30 AM with party president Janez Podobnik commenting on the situation in health care.
LJUBLJANA - The opposition New Slovenia (NSi) is to outline the party's programme for justice and comment on the government's work in this area at a press conference scheduled for 10:30 AM.
