Ljubljana, 20 September - Below is a schedule of events for Tuesday, 21 September:

NEW YORK, United States - President Janez Drnovsek is to attend and address the 59th session of the UN General Assembly. He is to meet UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and presidents of several countries on the margin of the session. FM Ivo Vajgl is to take part in a meeting of EU foreign ministers. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Japanese Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs Shogo Arai is to meet with Foreign Ministry State Secretary Andrej Logar and chairman of the parliamentary committee for foreign policy Roman Jakic.

LJUBLJANA - The Trade Union of Slovenian Journalists and the Association of Slovenian Journalists are to hold a press conference at 4 PM to reveal their plans for a general strike.

LJUBLJANA - The 10th meeting of stock brokers, the Stock Market Focus, organised by the Ljubljana Stock Exchange and the business daily Finance, is to begin at 2:45 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs is to present a national employment action plan for 2005 at a news conference at 12 AM. (STA)

ZAGORJE - A three-day international business conference on boosting regional development is to be launched at 10 AM. The event is organised by the Zagorje Regional Development Centre and is to gather representatives of regional development agencies from the former Yugoslav republics.

LJUBLJANA - The two-day conference on territorial cooperation and structural policy in Europe is to wrap up.

LIPICA - The Defence Ministry and the stud farm Kobilarna Lipica are to sign a contract at 11 AM on forming cavalry troops of the Slovenian Armed Forces.

LJUBLJANA - The Transport Ministry is to hold a news conference at 2 PM to present the government transport policy.

LJUBLJANA - The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food is to hold a news conference at 2 PM to present its solutions to the problems of beekeepers.

BELGRADE - Retailer Mercator is to hold a press conference at 3 PM to talk about their takeover bid for Serbian retail chain C Market.
