Croatia: No dual citizenship
Ljubljana, 29 November - The Croatian Citizenship Act which has been in force since October 8th this year has stirred up a considerable amount of debate among the public. According to this law, all Croatian citizens and all persons who wish to gain citizenship of the republic must immediately, i.e. within 6 months at the most, apply for Croatian citizenship. The Citizenship Act does not acknowledge dual citizenship. In the case of dual citizenship, the Croatian government will acknowledge only a person's Croatian citizenship.
