Ljubljana, 23 September - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 24 September:
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary committee on EU affairs is to meet for an extraordinary session at 2 PM to debate the information that Slovenia might lose eligibility for Objective 1 structural aid due to the statistical effect of further rounds of enlargement. (STA)
BRUSSELS, Belgium - The EU Competitiveness Council will be in session. Economics Minister Matej Lahovnik is to take part on behalf of Slovenia.
OBREZJE - Europe Minister Milan M. Cvikl is to attend a meeting of the ministerial coordination for the establishment of security, customs and inspection control on the future external border of the EU.
LJUBLJANA - Slovenian members of the European Parliament who are part of the European People's Party (EPP-ED) deputy group - Mihael Brejc, Romana Jordan Cizelj, Ljudmila Novak and Alojz Peterle - are to talk to the press at noon.
LJUBLJANA - US federal judge Nan Shucker and Justice Minister Zdenka Cerar are to speak to the press at 10 AM about a project for improving the resolution of property cases at the Ljubljana District Court.
LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's best rower Iztok Cop will stage a traditional exhibition meet, the Cop Challenger, at 7 PM. Held on the Ljubljanica River, which runs through the centre of Ljubljana, this 200-metre race will once again attract a number of the world's top rowers. (STA)

2004 GENERAL ELECTION
LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Democrats (SDS) are to talk about current problems in health care at a press conference scheduled for 10 AM.
LJUBLJANA - The Assembly for the Republic, a forum of conservative intellectuals and politicians, is to hold a press conference at noon to present the programme of an event entitled "For a Relaxed Slovenia".
