LJUBLJANA - Forum 21 is to discuss the government development strategy for Slovenia. The group of influential public figures gathered around Former President Milan Kucan is expected to take a stance on the general election; by supporting not a certain party or group, but a certain vision of development; begins at 9:30 AM. LJUBLJANA - The Assembly for the Republic, an opposition-sponsored counter-weight to Forum 21 which joins adherents of the right-leaning parties, is to stage a rally at 6 PM in Kongresni trg, a square in the city centre. The event is said to be primarily a party, but a number of prominent political figures are expected to address the crowd. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Following Wednesday's incident in which 12 Slovenian citizens, members of the opposition People's Party (SLS), were detained by the Croatian police, the party's top bodies are to discuss, in an emergency session, the reaction of Slovenian law enforcement to the incident; begins at 3 PM. PORTOROZ - The 11th Days of Slovenian Administration, scrutinising the public administration from the aspect of the country's EU entry, are to conclude, with several top politicians taking part in a number of panels.

2004 GENERAL ELECTION
LJUBLJANA - The last day when results of public opinion polls regarding the 3 October election can still be released.
LJUBLJANA - Head of the Party of European Socialists (PES), Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, will be visiting in support of the Slovenian PES member, the United List of Social Democrats (ZLSD). A news conference at 8:30 AM and a panel entitled "The ZLSD Success is the Success of European Social-Democrats" at 3 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The ruling Liberal Democrats (LDS) are to hold a convention at the Krizanke open-air theatre at noon.
