Will the budget cause the fall of the Government?
Ljubljana, 29 November - The governmental crisis in Slovenia will probably see a denouement before Christmas. On the previous Monday, Prime Minister Lojze Peterle sent the President of the Slovene Parliament Dr. France Bučar a three-page long request that the delegates take a vote of confidence on the Government as soon as possible. Though lengthy, the request still did not state precisely why the government should need affirmation at this particular moment. Apart from the failure it experienced with the Law on Ownership, the government has another tough nut to crack this week - the proposed state budget for 1992, as, even before all the items were published, the government was showered with criticism - some of it also coming from the ruling party coalition of DEMOS.
