Ljubljana, 28 September - Below is a schedule of events for Wednesday, 29 September:
LJUBLJANA - Foreign Minister Ivo Vajgl is to receive at 10 AM copies of credentials from the newly appointed US Ambassador Thomas Bolling Robertson. He will hand over the credentials to President Janez Drnovsek at 12:30 PM. The US Embassy is organising a reception for the new ambassador at the National Museum at 6 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Interior Minister Rado Bohinc, the head of the government negotiating group Igor Umek, and Bojan Hribar, head of the negotiating group of public sector trade unions, are to sign a statement at 11 AM on the harmonisation of acts, sublaws and collective agreements. This is necessary for the new public sector wage system to enter into force.
LJUBLJANA - Tunisian Ambassador to Slovenia, Muhammad Dauas, is to submit copies of his credentials to President Janez Drnovsek and FM Ivo Vajgl.
LJUBLJANA - Representatives of the Information Society Ministry, the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and Arnes, the academic and research network of Slovenia, are to talk to the press at 11 AM to present the first wireless education network.
LJUBLJANA - The council of Klinicni center, Ljubljana's central hospital, is to meet at 1 PM to discuss changes to the public institution's standing orders.
LJUBLJANA - The Association of Pharmacists is to talk to the press at 9:30 AM to present its view on the government proposal for the evaluation of the job post.
LJUBLJANA - A press conference at 11 AM will mark the 15th anniversary of the parliamentary group GLOBE Slovenija.
PODCETRTEK - The spa Terme Olimia is to hold a ceremony at 6:30 PM as the refurbished spa facilities are unveiled. PM Anton Rop will be the keynote speaker.
GENERAL ELECTION 2004
LJUBLJANA - The Consumer Association is scheduled to talk to the press at 11 AM to present the answers of political parties to the association's questionnaire about consumer protection. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The People's Party (SLS) will address journalists at 10 AM to comment on problems faced by farmers who are forced to return a part of the state's damages for last year's drought. New Slovenia (NSi) will address the same topic at 12:30 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Democrats (SDS) are to stage a public debate at 5 PM entitled "Slovenia's Transport Policy on a New Path - Programme of the Future".
LJUBLJANA - New Slovenia (NSi) will present all candidates for the election at the "closing convention" scheduled for 6:30 PM at the Krizanke open air theatre.
LJUBLJANA - The Youth Party (SMS) will present the problems of young job seekers at a press conference scheduled for 1 PM.
