Ljubljana, 30 September - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 1 October:
LJUBLJANA - The Press and Media Association at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is to speak to the press about the demands of the Journalists' Union at 11 AM, as journalists are getting ready for an all-out strike, due to begin on Sunday. (STA)
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Slovenia's candidate for European commissioner Janez Potocnik will be interviewed by the European Parliament. The hearing is expected to conclude at noon. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Reinhard Buescher, a new head of the unit for innovation studies at the Enterprise DG, is due to visit the Economics Ministry. Together with the country's leading policy-makers, he is expected to debate the Slovenian innovation policy at 9 AM.
BLED - The two-day international conference on the position of the constitutional courts after EU enlargement is to wrap up, with a news conference scheduled for 2 PM. (STA)
THE HAGUE, The Netherlands - A two-day meeting of EU justice and interior ministers focusing on the establishment of an area of freedom, security and justice (Tampere II programme) is to conclude. Interior Minister Rado Bohinc will be attending on behalf of Slovenia.
ZAGREB, Croatia - A meeting of a coordinating body associating umbrella organisations of Slovenians living in Croatia, Hungary, Austria and Italy is to meet to discuss the situation of Slovenians in Croatia. News conference at 1 PM.
LJUBLJANA - Representatives of the International Commission for Missed Persons are to speak to the press at noon as part of their visit to the country.
LJUBLJANA - A two-day conference about crime and the society is to begin, marking the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Law's Institute of Criminology.
LJUBLJANA - Nirmal Puwar of Goldsmith College London will open the 10th City of Women festival at 7:30 PM with a lecture themed "Space Invaders". Until 7 October, the festival will feature some 40 women artists from 15 countries.
