France Bučar refused Peterle's request for a confidence vote

Ljubljana, 2 December - President of the Parliament Dr. France Bučar today wrote a letter to the Prime Minister Lojze Peterle and informed him that his request for a confidence vote to the government is unacceptable. Dr. Bučar explained his decision by saying that the question of a confidence vote must be linked to some tangible issue. The constitution and the Parliaments protocol do not include deciding about a confidence vote as a general matter, or just to verify if the government has enough support in the parliament.
