VMRO-DPMNE demands that Slovenia be recognized
Skopje, 3 December - Macedonia's strongest parliamentary party VMRO-DPMNE demands in a statement for the public that the parliament should recognize Slovenia as an independent and sovereign states. In setting forth the demand the party refers to Slovenian Presidency president Milan Kučan's proposal that Slovenia and Macedonia recognize one another. At the same time, the VMRO - Democratic Party for Macedonian National Unity proposed the Macedonian parliament to adopt the party's Memorandum on international recognition of Macedonia. The proposed document proceeds from the results of the referendum of September 8 this year and the recently adopted Constitution which proclaimed Macedonia an independent and sovereign state.
