Macedonia to set up its own news agency
Skopje, 3 December - The Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia will have on the agenda today a draft law on the foundation of the Macedonian news ageny TAM. STA has learnt that Macedonian authorities are not satisfied with the current editorial policy of the news agency TANJUG. The setting up of a Macedonian news agency would in their opinion lessen the political pressure of the information media from Serbia. The draft provides for TAM reports from and about Macedonia to be daily dispatched in the Macedonian, Serbo-Croatian and English languages. The founder of the news agency will be the Assembly of Macedonia. The predecessor of TAM was a news agency of the same name, established on September 2, 1944.
