The constitution in serious jeopardy
Ljubljana, 5 December - The ratification of the new Slovenian constitution is, following the yesterday's day long session of the Constitutional Committee, still questionable. The text of the constitution will be on the Parliament's benches hopefully on December 23. The statements of the representatives of the ruling coalition point to the fact, that they have no intention to vote "aye" for the draft, because its Article 54 is exactly the same as the one in the old constitution. Since a two third majority is obligatory for the vote, it is a general consensus that the ratification of the new constitution is questionable.
