The opposition demands a vote of confidence on the government

Ljubljana, 6 December - Three oppositional parties in the Slovene Parliament: the Liberal Democratic Party (LDS), the Party of Democratic Reforms (SDP) and the Socialist Party of Slovenia (SSS) sent a letter to President of the Parliament Dr. France Bučar today, proposing that a joint session of all three Chambers of Parliament be convened, at which a vote of confidence on Peterle's government is to be taken. The chief reproaches against the government listed in the letter are ineffectuality, mistakes and slip-ups and above all, the "inability to surmount and resolve the increasingly grave state of the economy and growing social security problems."
