Slovenia's foreign currency reserves

Ljubljana, 14 December - Mr. Dušan Šešok, Slovenian Minister of Finance, at a press conference today following a session of parliament, among other things, stated that the foreign currency reserves of the Republic of Slovenia presently amount to approximately 300 million American dollars. The main foreign currency "wave" amounting to at least 600 million Deutsche Marks is anticipated to come from the sale of public housing. Šešok also said that, if Slovenia succeeds in reestablishing the trust of the holders of foreign currency savings accounts in domestic banks, Slovenia can anticipate a greater balance between foreign currency inflow and outflow, which, in the foreseeable future, could perhaps result in the completely free command of the foreign currency savings accounts of its citizens.
