Kocjančič elected president of Slovenia's Olympic Committee
Ljubljana, 17 December - The first president of Slovenia's Olympic Committee (SOC) is M.A. Janez Kocjančič whom the SOC elected today in an overwhelming majority vote (23). Among other presidential candidates, Miroslav Cerar won 8 votes and Tjaša Andree-Prosenc and Matija Malešič one vote each. Dr. Janez Drnovšek, also one of the candidates for president, this morning renounced candidacy explaining that the interntional situation (recognition of Slovenia) and the situation at home will demand his full commitment.
