President Peterle revokes his interview for "Trieste Oggi"
Ljubljana, 19 December - The cabinet of the President of the Slovenian Government, Mr. Lojze Peterle, revoked some of the assertions printed in the Italian newspaper Trieste Oggi. An unauthorized interview was published today, edited by Mr. Roldano Radnelli. The first part of the interview was quoted correctly, states the press representative of the cabinet of the President Peterle, while the second part contains assertions that were not uttered by the President of the Slovenian Government. This is especially true for the quote of Mr. Radnelli saying: " The recognition of the new states will not promote peace. We do not exclude the possibility that Slovenes, that are at the moment not involved in the armed conflicts, will have to go to the Croatian front line, to help liberate the territories occupied by the Serbs. We have not discussed this questions yet, but we did put them on our agenda." The press representative of the Slovenian Government also revokes the statement in which Mr. Radnelli claims that the Government is divided regarding this issue. The Slovenian Government did not have and has no intent to address this issue, states the press representative of the Slovenian Government.
