Ljubljana, 1 December - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 2 December:

LJUBLJANA - Turkish FM Abdullah Guel is due to visit the National Assembly before wrapping up his visit here. A meeting with Speaker France Cukjati is scheduled for 9 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Parliament is expected to convene at noon for an emergency session at which lawmakers are expected to confirm the MP replacing PM-designate Janez Jansa and adopt a bill on the ratification of the agreement on the privileges and immunity of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, among other things.

KLAGENFURT, Austria - The National Council of Carinthian Slovenians (NSKS), one of the two umbrella organisations of ethnic Slovenians in Austria, is to hold a press conference at 10:30 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Foreign Ministry State Secretary Andrej Logar is scheduled to receive a Polish delegation headed by EU Department Head Pawel Swieboda for bilateral consultation between both foreign ministries; at 11:30 PM.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - EU justice and home affairs ministers are meeting for a two-day session dominated by the fight against terrorism.

LJUBLJANA - Outgoing Interior Minister Rado Bohinc is to speak about the work in his term to the press at 11 AM.

PORTOROZ - The Slovenian Audit Institute is to stage a two-day congress, its first ever; to start at 9:30 AM. (STA)

OSIJEK, Croatia - Slovenia's largest retailer Mercator is due to open a mall in Osjek. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - A round table starting at 9 AM is to examine whether the civil society is involved enough in the management of the health care system; organised by the Centre for Information Service, Cooperation and Development of NGOs (CNVOS).

LJUBLJANA - The municipal authorities are to present the festivities in the runup to Christmas and New Year at a press conference scheduled for 11 AM.
