Ljubljana, 15 December - Over the past year Slovenia found its place in the European family of nations, a family that, in spite of its efforts to integrate, still appreciates cultural diversity. As a result of its new-found place in Europe, interest in Slovenia and its cultural riches reached an all-time high in 2004. The country's membership of the EU also opened new doors to multinational projects in various cultural fields, ranging from music to film; an opportunity Slovenia's artists gladly accepted. A record number of major cultural events in Slovenia stand as a testament that progress is being made in the arts department.
