Ljubljana, 16 December - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 17 December:

BRUSSELS, Belgium - The EU summit in Brussels, attended by Prime Minister Janez Jansa and Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, is expected to pass decisions about the start of EU membership talks with Turkey and Croatia and adopt guidelines for further talks on EU's 2007-2013 financial perspective. TRZIC - Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak, the CEO of footwear manufacturer Peko Marta Gorjup Brejc, the CEO of DSU Franc Herman Simnovec and Mayor of Trzic Pavel Rupar are to sign at noon a contract wrapping up the transfer of part of the property among the four parties.

LJUBLJANA - The Environmental Agency is to present the results of two international project, namely on air quality (AIRPECO) and the population exposure to air pollutants in the Ljubljana region (PEOPLE). The news conference is scheduled at 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary EU affairs committee is to hold a close-door session at 2 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Slovenian MEP Jelko Kacin of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe is to hold a press conference at noon about further EU enlargement.

KOPER - The insurance company Adriatic is to present the first assessments of this year's business results.
