Ljubljana, 19 December - Parliament adopted a number of amendments to the tax legislation drafted by the former government and due to enter into force on 1 January, which among other changes introduce lower taxes on capital gains. Companies went on publishing the anticipated 2004 results and plans for 2005, with several profit warnings injecting pessimism into the stock market. Ivan Zagar was appointed minister without portfolio in charge of regional development and local self-government.
