Ljubljana, 8 January - VEČER: DEATH OVER VARADIN - Yesterday's tragedy of the five European monitors will most probably be the event which will at last bring the ruthless Balkan war to the serious attention of Europe. It confirms the present hesitation of Butros Gali to send the UN peace keeping forces to the former Yugoslavia. Milan Predan writes in his introduction that yesterday's shooting down of the helicopter over Varaždin has further delayed or even all together prevented the arrival of the UN peace keeping forces and posses a question: Has a segment of the military again acted on their own accord or is the death over Varaždin a declaration of war by the generals against all concerned, even against Milošević's regime, for which this tragic incident only has negative repercussion?
