Session of the Slovenian Assembly
Ljubljana, 15 January - Today all the Chamber of the Slovenian Assembly were in session. Among the more important laws under discussion were the law on sales tax and the law on the health service. Special attention was given to the laws on social security and taxation of families. The law on family taxation is a new law which will apply to mothers on a leave of absence due to pregnancy, subsidies for child bearing, contributions required for obtaining provisions for the new born children and additional funds provided for families with children. At the time of dire social circumstances, when childbearing is on the decline, it is a very important law designed to help young families.
