New Zealand recognizes Slovenia
Ljubljana, 16 January - New Zealand recognized the independence of Slovenia and Croatia today. This decision was reached only after the two republics have been recognized by the EC. The President of the Government of New Zealand, Mr. Jim Bogler, stated that the Slovenian and the Croatian nations clearly expressed their wish to leave the Yugoslav Federation and to envision their future among the other independent nations. Mr. Bolger said that the Yugoslav embassy in Wellington will continue to represent the Yugoslav Government in Belgrade. New Zealand will further the relations with Slovenia and Croatia as well as maintain good relations with Yugoslavia, stated the President of the Government of New Zealand, Mr. Jim Bolger.
