Kranjska Gora: Raich Wins as Miller Fails to Finish

Kranjska Gora, 26 February - Benjamin Raich of Austria has won the Kranjska Gora World Cup giant slalom with a lightning fast second run. Raich finished 0.45 seconds ahead of compatriot Hermann Maier. Third place went to Kalle Palander of Finland, who finished 0.79 seconds behind Raich despite leading after the first run. Two-time winner of the Kranjska Gora giant slalom and the current leader in the overall World Cup Standings Bode Miller failed to finish the second run.
