Krka Pharmaceuticals signs a contract with The Wellcome Foundation

Ljubljana, 24 January - Krka, the pharmaceutical company from Novo Mesto, signed a business contract with the British Wellcome Foundation Ltd. on the common marketing and retail of the antivirus medication Virolex on the markets of Poland, Czech and Slovak Federation, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Albania. According to this ten-year contract Krka is supposed to collaborate on an equal basis with the British company that has 2,7 billion USD trade per annum. The Krka experts will collaborate closely with their British collegues on manufacture, marketing and sale of the medicament on the aforementioned markets. At the same time Krka also signed a contract with the Wellcome Foundation on the research collaboration. Last year exports of Krka totalled 120 million USD in medicaments, pharmaceutical and veterinary raw materials, subsidiary medications, medicinal herbs, isolation materials and cosmetics.
