New Slovenian licence plates now valid

Ljubljana, 24 January - From Tuesday, January 28, onwards, it will be possible for drivers in Slovenia to exchange the old licence plates (bearing the emblem of former Yugoslavia) on their vehicles for new ones of a slightly different shape and adapted to the European standards. The licence plates will also in future be registered under the name of the vehicle's owner and not under the vehicle number. The drivers of all vehicles registered in Slovenia are requested to change the licence plates on their vehicles by June 25, 1994, said the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at a press conference today.
